You have to know this is a much better than average restaurant, check the menu, the choices and descriptions alone draw you in. I was part of a party of 6, we booked in advance otherwise we wouldn't have got in, and even then we got our second choice of evening. But it was worth it. Interior is rustic but smart, the welcome was warm and the service friendly. The place was busy but we didn't feel overlooked or overheard. Food quality was excellent as was the wine list which was varied, interesting and well priced. Standards were high all round, it was a special treat for us but very enjoyable and worth every penny.

So disappointed with my family meal here. We had been holidaying in Aberaeron earlier that week and had been dining at a similar style/priced restaurant there. The difference was noticeable to say the least! I found the Mulberry didn't appreciate accommodating a family which included a (sleeping) baby in a buggy plus a well behaved 5 year old. Our starters were plain and tasteless. Our main course could best be described as well presented pub grub! The staff were polite but I'm assuming had been instructed to treat everyone as if they were miserable and pompous. We don't eat out very often now due to having the little ones, so when we do, we don't mind paying more and having great food in a great place. But I am afraid I just felt incredibly uncomfortable with the atmosphere and the food was a real let down, seriously over priced for what it was. If you fancy a drive further through Wales, go to The New Celtic Restaurant in Aberaeron. Amazing food and the staff are NORMAL. They went out of their way to help us, were fantastic with the children, I was happy to spend more than we usually would on a night out there!
